7.3 MILLION SYRIAN CHILDREN ARE IN DESPERATE NEED, FOR ORPHANED CHILDREN IN PARTICULAR, THEIR PLIGHT IS ESPECIALLY DESPERATE, LEAVING THEM VULNERABLE TO EXPLOITATION
Due to the on going conflict in Syria, one in three households are now headed by a woman. Taking on the financial and emotional responsibility for the family can be immensely stressful. Single mothers in Syria face social stigmas and have difficulty finding reliable work.
7.3 million Syrian children are in desperate need, for orphaned children in particular, their plight is especially desperate, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. So many of these children have lost all the support network they had, not only having to endure the loss of one or both parents but also having to endure the pain of the on-going war in their country, stealing their childhood.
Our Work So Far
We now have a camp to take in the widows and orphans in Syria, currently it houses 80 widows and 170 orphans. There are support classes for widows, cleaning facilities, play area for children and also classes for children. The camp is enclosed and has its own caretaker.
We Need Your Help
It costs £5,000 per month to keep the camp running, which is £60,000 a year. It is important for us to continue to support the widows and orphans, to enable them to have brighter futures. We can only do this with your support, click on one of the following options to donate:
