ABOUT ONE UMMAH

One Ummah which translates to one nation, one world and one community was put together in the hopes and dreams of bringing the world’s communities together and uniting against poverty.

One Ummah is a non-profitable charity organisation that provides humanitarian assistance aid to those most in need around the world. Founded in the North of England by a group of dedicated people inspired by Islam with the desire to save lives. Our team and volunteers are from the heart of your communities helping you make a difference.

OUR MISSION

To put the true light of Islam in practise by tackling poverty, changing lives and answering the calls of those in need. To bring joy, dignity and honour back to our brothers and sisters in Humanity around the world. We aim to:

A world that is free from poverty, starvation and water shortages, A world filled with justice, love, care and tarbiyyah. A world that enables and empowers each and every individual from anywhere in the world to reach their true potential, without being held back by the difficulties of poverty.

After years of dedicated Islamic work in mosques, universities, community programmes, Islamic education and events, our team has built a foundation with a strong Islamic ethos guided by Islamic values. We take the trusts (amanah) of the people very seriously and with great care. Here are some of our key principles:

100 % DONATION POLICY:

We take the trusts of people very seriously and guarantee that every last penny of your contribution is spent on the cause/project you have donated towards. Meaning, if you donated for a water well, your money will only be spent on the delivery, construction, labour and materials required in building that well. Not a single penny will go towards administration, marketing or generating further funds alhamdulillah.

  • Donations specified for administration costs.
  • Business Partners & Sponsors.
  • Income generated from recycling textiles.
  • Profits receive from One Ummah investment arm.
  • Gift Aid donations – This is a government scheme allowing taxpayers to increase the value of their donation by 25%. This additional amount is paid by the government and a portion of it is allocated to the charity’s administration fund.

Note: Not all Gift Aid funds are used on administration. Each year unused Gift Aid funds are transferred to the charity’s relief accounts to be used on charitable projects.
