The suffering of the Afghans has been unimaginable. On the 22nd of June 2022, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Pakitka province of Afghanistan claiming the lives of 1500 people. Thousands of others are injured or displaced. The suffering for the Afghans continues as already, almost 10 million people are living on the brink of famine, a figure that will rise unless help is provided. That means more than half of the population are expected to battle hunger in 2022. Many of these families have already endured decades of hardship and conflict, having to sell property and even loved ones into arranged marriages just to survive.
The One Ummah team are working tirelessly on the ground to save as many lives as possible in dozens of areas across and on the borders of Afghanistan.
