The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6011, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2586). We are a family of six, coming from an international background, with family ties spanning Pakistan, Europe, America, Australia and the United Kingdom, who want to serve Allah SWT and His people in the best way most pleasing to Him SWT. Having a migrant background ourselves and having learned from our elders, how important it is to help others when they are in need, we wish to use our time and efforts to serve and uplift the ummah. Pakistan has become hard hit by extreme weather conditions in recent years, facing flooding and landslides, that have brought devastation in their wake, leaving entire villages having to restart their very lives from scratch. In recent days, more than 300 people have been killed in flash floods that caused landslides across northern Pakistan, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa having been particularly impacted. At this very moment in time, there are families facing the dire situation of having lost their home, facing the loss of loved ones, homelessness, hunger, the prospect of water borne and other diseases, raising their hands up to the sky and asking Allah SWT for relief. Each and everyone of us can contribute to this. One Ummah, who have a 100% donation policy, are on the ground with local partners and authorities deploying mobile medical units, emergency food packs, and shelter kits to provide first line support. The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: "The most beloved people to Allah SWT are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles, or forgive his debt, or feed his hunger. That I walk with a brother regarding a need is more beloved to me than that I seclude myself in this mosque in Medina for a month. Whoever swallows his anger, then Allah will conceal his faults. Whoever suppresses his rage, even though he could fulfill his anger if he wished, then Allah will secure his heart on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever walks with his brother regarding a need until he secures it for him, then Allah Almighty will make his footing firm across the bridge on the day when the footings are shaken". We want to bring this sunnah to life in our own lives and pass this noble mission on to the next generations and the communities we are a part of. Please donate generously from whatever you are able to from what Allah SWT has blessed you with and of which we know He SWT has already earmarked a portion for those in need. May Allah SWT keep our intentions sincere and accept it from all of us, ameen thuma ameen.
