Job Summary:

The Digital Fundraising Assistant will be required to carried out various fundraising related tasks online. He/she will be working closely with the head of fundraising to carry out a variety of tasks on social media, emails, word press and other such platforms. Part of the role is to respond to current and new donors fundraising queries, along with updating them regularly on One Ummah’s work around the world. The candidate will be trained to work on creating fundraising pages for One Ummah’s campaigns and for volunteer fundraisers who wish to raise funds.

CEO, Fundraising Manager, Staff, Contractors and OUC partners.

Key Accountabilities:

• Where and when required, support the fundraising team with online and offline fundraising activities through a coordinated approach across various advertising platforms.
• Manage, update and post content on all of One Ummah’s social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter.
• Update content on the One Ummah website via Word press.
• Create fundraising pages for all of One Ummah’s online fundraisers.
• Carry out admin tasks across social media platforms including responding to comments and messages across all pages OUC have access to.
• Reply to all incoming fundraising related emails throughout the year.
• Organise and attend meetings and any necessary training for any digital fundraising related activities.
• Support fundraisers and help them achieve their potential.
• Attend Fundraising meetings to update colleagues on other key strategic matters, as outlined above, and to support the Head of Fundraising.
• Any other task as deemed appropriate by the Head of Fundraising within the scope of the role.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary administrative, professional, technical skills and experience.

Qualifications:

• Valid UK Driving License (E)
• Educated to University Level (D)

Experience:

• Proven experience working within a fundraising/marketing department (E)
• Experience working on various social media platforms (E)
• Educated to degree level, or to have equivalent relevant experience (E)
• Experience of working in the UK charity sector (D)

Knowledge and Skills:

• High level of numeracy, literacy and IT skills (E)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (E)
• Knowledge of Islamic financial matters i.e. Zakat, Sadaqat, Waqf (E)
• Strong understanding of international development and humanitarian work (E)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and internet. (E)
• A strong working knowledge of a wide range of digital and social media technologies, platforms and marketing (E)
• A strong working knowledge of Word press software (E)
• High level understanding of current marketing trends (E)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively. (E)
• Ability to work in and outside of an office environment to create and maintain relationships. (E)
• Ability to plan, strategize, prioritize and delegate to ensure successful delivery of targets. (E)
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as well as build relationships with people of all backgrounds, levels and settings. (E)
• Elements of fundraising feasibility assessment required to make informed decisions on ideas/concepts. (E)
• A strong working knowledge of a wide range of digital and social media technologies, platforms and marketing (E)
