The National Fundraising Manager for One Ummah (OU) will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds from local communities around the UK, individuals, businesses, and other stakeholders. SCOPE AND AUTHORITY
Development and implementation of community fundraising strategy.
Development and implementation of annual fundraising activities plan.
Leadership, direction and management of OU’s community fundraising department.
Management of the community fundraising staff and volunteers.
Ensuring all community fundraising activities are in line with OU values, policies, strategy framework and set budgets.
Management and allocation of community fundraising budget.
Community fundraising officers and volunteer recruitment.
Senior Management Team (SMT) member and collaborator.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy and Planning:
Plan and implement a UK community fundraising strategy to achieve financial objectives in consultation with the CEO.
Create an annual plan of activities as a base/foundation for staff and volunteers to deliver, help implement and achieve community fundraising plans and goals.
Plan and organise specific fundraising events, campaigns, and activities within the community. Leadership and Recruitment
Manage, organise and coordinate regional community fundraising officers and volunteers effectively with clear guidelines, plans and deliverables.
Build and manage a network of volunteers, community ambassadors, and fundraising champions to increase the impact of the fundraising activities.
Recruit, manage and develop key volunteers to implement and support the delivery of fundraising activities, managing role rotation and succession.
Implement volunteer recognition and awards programmes to express appreciation and maintain relationships.
Ensure community fundraising officers KPIs are met.
Fundraising Activities:
Manage, organise and oversee the delivery of all OU community fundraising activities such as conferences, lectures, challenges etc.
Manage and optimise volunteer-led fundraising activities, ensuring legal, Islamic and organisational compliance.
Network with individuals and groups in the community, including organisations, educational establishments and mosques with income-generating potential to support the department’s financial objectives.
Identify funding sources from the UK community from a range of fundraising initiatives and activities through the acquisition and retention of donors.
Ensure maximum return on investment from fundraising activities.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and supporters, ensuring regular communication and stewardship to encourage ongoing contributions.
Identify and cultivate relationships with potential individual donors, businesses, community organisations, and key stakeholders to secure funding and support.
Optimise local awareness, and devise and implement local campaigns around the UK.
Develop and implement a strategy for high net-worth donors.
Develop and implement a strategy to increase OU donor base.
Support in developing new opportunities for the charity with events, exhibitions, conferences and partnerships.
Reporting and Finance:
Ensure all planning, recording and reporting documents are completed for each activity.
Ensure financial records are kept for all individual fundraising activities.
Monitor and analyse fundraising activity’s performance and assess ROI’s.
Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
Prepare, monitor and evaluate financial targets and expenditures for all fundraising activities.
Ensure regular feedback is given to team members, issues and concerns are highlighted and remedial action is agreed and implemented.
Ensure that effective management and accountability procedures are in place and followed, as well as the protocol and procedures set by One Ummah.
Ensure all partnerships and activities are conducted within the fundraising, events management, data & privacy and due diligence policies. As well as Risk Assessments when related to community fundraising activities.
Write a summary report of performance for the CEO and Trustees every quarter.
Other:
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop and implement marketing and communication activities that promote community fundraising initiatives.
Working across all departments and teams to ensure adequate management of existing and future community fundraising prospects.
Facilitate the delivery of wider departmental and organisational goals through community fundraising work.
Organise and attend meetings, fulfilling any necessary training for community fundraising-related activities.
Keep abreast to emerging trends within the community and social media, such as influencers and current affairs.
Support SMT colleagues in resolving significant operational issues.
Attend SMT meetings to update colleagues on fundraising and other key strategic matters, as outlined above, and to support the CEO.
Any other task as deemed appropriate by the CEO and Operations Manager within the scope of the role.

Experience:
