One Ummah's 100% Donation Policy

Nothing is more important than the trust you place in us. At One Ummah, we take your Amanah seriously and are committed to managing every donation with transparency, integrity, and accountability.

This policy explains how donations are used and how we ensure that funds entrusted to us are applied responsibly in delivering aid to those in need.

Our Commitment

One Ummah operates a 100% Donation Policy. This means that 100% of the donation we receive for a specific appeal or project is allocated towards delivering that charitable cause.

Project donations are not used to cover the charity's core administrative, marketing, or organisational costs. Your donation is therefore applied to delivering life-saving assistance and supporting the charitable work it was intended for.

What Your Donation Supports

Donations given towards a specific appeal or project are used to fund the costs required to deliver, implement, and oversee that project effectively.

Project costs may include:

Aid Delivery

  • Procurement of aid items and essential supplies
  • Construction materials or equipment required for projects
  • Distribution of aid to beneficiaries

Logistics and Implementation

  • Transport and delivery of goods
  • Warehousing and storage
  • Local operational costs required to implement projects

Field Operations

  • Field staff and project teams responsible for delivering the programme
  • Local programme coordination and supervision
  • Partner management and oversight where projects are delivered through partners

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

  • Monitoring visits and verification of project delivery
  • Beneficiary identification and verification
  • Post-distribution monitoring
  • Accountability and feedback mechanisms
  • Impact measurement and learning to improve future programmes

These activities ensure that aid is delivered effectively, reaches the intended beneficiaries, and that projects are implemented responsibly.

What Project Donations Do Not Fund

Project donations are not used to cover the charity's core administrative or organisational costs.

These include, for example:

  • Governance and trustee oversight
  • Central finance and accounting functions
  • Regulatory compliance and legal obligations
  • Organisational infrastructure and central management

Keeping these costs separate helps ensure that donations given for projects are applied to the charitable work they were intended to support.

Financial Integrity and Fund Segregation

To protect donor trust and ensure proper stewardship of funds:

  • Project funds and administrative funds are accounted for separately
  • Donations are tracked and applied to the appeals they are intended to support
  • Appropriate financial controls, oversight, and record-keeping are maintained
  • Funds are used solely in furtherance of One Ummah's charitable objectives

Project Flexibility

In some cases, projects may become fully funded, oversubscribed, delayed, or unable to continue due to operational, security, or regulatory circumstances.

Where this occurs, One Ummah may redirect funds to:

  • The closest related project or appeal, or
  • Other charitable activities that fall within the charity's objectives

Where possible, we aim to apply donations in a way that remains consistent with the donor's original intention.

Payment Processing Fees

Some donations may be subject to payment processing or banking fees charged by payment providers.

Our 100% Donation Policy applies to the amount received by One Ummah after these external fees have been deducted.

Funding the Charity's Operations

Running a responsible charity requires essential organisational functions such as governance, safeguarding, financial management, and regulatory compliance.

These costs are funded through:

  • Donations specifically given for administrative support
  • Gift Aid contributions
  • Other unrestricted income sources

This approach allows One Ummah to maintain strong governance and accountability while ensuring that project donations are directed towards charitable work.

Trustee Oversight

The trustees of One Ummah are responsible for ensuring that:

  • All funds are applied solely in furtherance of the charity's charitable purposes
  • Appropriate financial controls and audit trails are maintained
  • The charity complies with all legal and regulatory obligations
  • Public trust and confidence in the charity are protected

Stewardship of Your Amanah

Every donation entrusted to One Ummah is treated as an Amanah.

We are committed to ensuring that your support reaches those in need and contributes to meaningful, responsible, and impactful humanitarian work.
