One Ummah Events - 18 Aug 2026
CAGED MERCY is an immersive experience exploring our relationship with the dunya and the things we allow to take hold of our hearts.
It’s a chance to step away from the noise and reflect on the things we chase, the things we struggle to let go of and what true freedom looks like for a believer.
Join Brother Amir “Loon” Muhadith and Shaykh Abdullah Ibn Khamis for a powerful conversation combining lived experience with Islamic reminders and reflection.
The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘This world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.’ [Muslim]
We live in an age obsessed with autonomy, financial freedom, and the relentless pursuit of self-gratification. We are constantly told from all angles and directions, to chase our dreams, hoard material wealth, build status, and indulge in comfort.
Yet behind the polished veneer of modern life, why do so many of us feel profoundly trapped?
We find ourselves trapped by our desires, bound to material status, addicted to screens, and held hostage by the exact dunya we were explicitly warned against. We spend our lives building luxurious, comfortable cells, completely unaware that the bars surrounding us are forged by our own unchecked attachments.
CAGED MERCY is not merely another Islamic lecture. It is an immersive, soul-stirring journey designed to shatter the illusion of worldly freedom. Brought to Masajid across the UK this August 2026 by One Ummah, this event challenges how we view our core purpose, exposes the unseen chains holding us back, and reveals how true spiritual liberation begins when we surrender fully to our Creator, submitting to Allah.
From Harlem Lights to Divine Light - The Story of Brother Amir 'Loon' Muhadith
Before he was known as Amir Muhadith, millions of hip-hop fans across the globe knew him simply as Loon.
Rising from the tough, fast-paced streets of Harlem, New York, he clawed his way to the absolute pinnacle of the global music industry. Signed to Puff Daddy’s legendary Bad Boy Entertainment, Loon became an international superstar, writing platinum-selling hits, topping charts worldwide, performing in front of stadium-sized crowds, and living a lifestyle defined by immense wealth, fame, luxury, and glitz.
To the outside world, he had achieved the ultimate dream. He had complete financial independence, global adoration, and access to whatever his heart desired. Yet behind the VIP curtains and flashbulbs, an inner emptiness persisted. The glitter of showbiz provided entertainment, but no peace. Luxury offered physical comfort, but no spiritual purpose.
In 2008, while visiting Abu Dhabi, a profound turning point occurred. He recounts the following:
'I visited Abu Dhabi, Emirate’s capital, and there I found the real happiness and tranquillity which my wealth and fame failed to give me all over my life as a singer. I was affected with the Muslim’s culture, and I admired their refined morals, their kind treatment with people, and especially their regular going to pray in the mosque five times every day.
Consequently, I began to ask about the reality of this religion, and whether it was only exclusive for Arabs, and I realised that Islam includes all human beings without any consideration to their nationalities. Then, I announced my conversion to Islam after a profound thinking, and I prayed for the first time after my return to my home in Harlem, New York.'
All the platinum records, money, and global fame were merely gilded chains keeping him captive to a fleeting world. Walking away from a multi-million-dollar entertainment career at its absolute peak, he embraced Islam and took the name Amir Muhadith. Shortly after embracing Islam, his wife and son accepted Islam by Allah's infinite mercy and grace, Alhamdulillah.
His journey since has been one of extraordinary transformation, resilience, deep study, and unwavering commitment to sharing the message of Islam. Having tasted the absolute peak of worldly 'paradise' and realised its emptiness, Brother Amir brings a raw, authentic, and deeply moving perspective on what it truly means to break free from the prison of our desires.
To complement Brother Amir’s powerful life journey, Shaykh Abdullah Ibn Khamis brings profound scholarship, traditional Islamic wisdom, and spiritual clarity to the tour.
From a young age, being brought up in an Islamic household, with Islam instilled in him from his father (may Allah have mercy on him) and after his father's death, being brought up by the sacrifice and Du'a of his mother, Shaykh Abdullah's journey from the chaotic streets of North-West London to the tranquil roads of Madinah, is an inspiration for all. After an Islamic upbringing, he made a trip to study the Islamic sciences in Egypt and thereafter went on to complete formal studies in the Faculty of Hadith at the renowned Islamic University of Madinah.
In a world characterised by digital noise, moral confusion, and relentless distractions, Shaykh Abdullah’s teachings serve as an essential anchor. He articulates complex spiritual realities with remarkable eloquence and accessibility, weaving timeless Qur'anic principles into practical remedies for our daily struggles.
During the tour, Shaykh Abdullah will unpack profound Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ in detail, reminding us that we live for the Akhirah and not the dunya. He will demonstrate how the divine boundaries of Islam, often misunderstood as restrictions are the ultimate expression of Divine Mercy, carefully designed to protect the human heart from the tyranny of the lower self (Nafs).
This event is crafted to deliver a powerful, transformative evening for youth, adults, and families alike:
