The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).” [Hadith, Sahih Muslim]
Over two billion people worldwide lack access to safe, clean drinking water, leaving them vulnerable to fatal waterborne diseases. This summer, One Ummah is delivering life-saving water projects, including boreholes and hand pumps, to communities in desperate need.
With your support, we can eradicate water poverty and restore dignity to millions. Your Sadaqah Jariyah today towards building Water Wells tomorrow, will be a continuous giving for you in the Akhirah, and will InshaAllah, increase you in good in this life too.
Please note: This appeal is not Zakat applicable. Any surplus funds will be placed into the general water fund to support other water-related projects
Hand Pump — £250. Beneficiaries: Up to 15 people. Countries: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma and Afghanistan. Provides a hand pump that supplies clean drinking water to a family and their neighbours. Hand pumps can provide a sustainable water solution for several years.
Community Well — £1,350. Beneficiaries: Approximately 1,000 people. Countries: Kenya, Sierra Leone and Uganda. Provides a clean water supply for a village or community through the installation of a borehole in Kenya or a hand-dug well in Sierra Leone and Uganda. Providing clean water is one of the greatest forms of Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity), offering ongoing rewards for you or a loved one, even after death.
The Messenger of Allah said, 'When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah; a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him.' [Muslim]
When asked by Sa’d ibn Ubadah which charity is best, the Prophet replied, 'A drink of water.' [Nasai

Clean water empowers communities from the ground up, leading to healthier families, more children in school, and sustainable livelihoods. Even the smallest act of providing water holds immense weight. The Messenger of Allah said, 'A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that.' [Bukhari]
Every time your donation saves a life, it carries the weight of the Qur'an: 'if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind' [Qur'an, 5:32].
Alhamdulillah, your previous support allowed One Ummah to construct hundreds of boreholes in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Tanzania, providing a lifeline to almost 150,000 people.
Rewards are based on the sincerity of your intention. Whether you fund an entire well or make a smaller contribution, your donation will reach families on the frontline of crisis.
