Understanding the Sunnah of Aqiqah
The Aqiqah sacrifice serves as an act of worship, express gratitude to Allah, and extend charity to those in need.
Sunnah Guidelines
Traditionally, two animals are sacrificed for a newborn boy and one animal for a newborn girl. The animal must be healthy, free from physical defects, and meet age requirements.
Ideal Timing
The Sunnah is best fulfilled on the seventh day following birth. If this is not possible, it may be performed on the fourteenth, twenty first, or any time thereafter, including in adulthood if it was missed during childhood.
