Caring For A Family Through Years Of Crisis
Parents in Yemen are trying to feed their children while conflict and economic hardship disrupt household life. Someone who has been displaced may also be looking for somewhere to stay and a way to earn again. Each task takes effort, and the need for assistance can continue long after the first departure from home.
The UNICEF statement of 16 September 2026 describes renewed fighting that displaced more than 104,000 people in two weeks. It also reports disruption to health facilities and schools. These figures describe a particular escalation within a longer crisis, during which families were already struggling to obtain essential services.
Through the Yemen Emergency Appeal, you can support assistance that helps households meet some of those needs. A contribution towards food or hygiene supplies can give a parent something practical to use while they continue looking after their family. It comes alongside their care and effort, with respect for the responsibilities they are carrying.
What Your Yemen Emergency Appeal Donation Can Provide
The £30 hygiene-pack option can support a family of up to five people. Access to personal-care supplies matters when a household has limited money or has had to leave possessions behind. A pack helps with those daily needs; providing it is one part of supporting families, alongside access to water and other essential services.
£100 can provide winter essentials for a family of up to five. The programme’s wider assistance includes clothing and blankets, helping people care for their households when temperatures fall. A parent still wants their child to be warm at night, including when displacement has made that harder to arrange.
For food support, £120 can provide three food packs, helping feed three families of up to five people each for one month. Through the Yemen Emergency Appeal, a gift made with relatives or friends can help three families with food for the month ahead. It supports household food needs while families continue to manage their other living costs.

Water And Shelter Are Part Of Daily Care
Food is only one of the needs a household must meet. Collecting water and staying somewhere suitable to live also takes time and resources. When public services have been disrupted or a home has been damaged, these everyday tasks become harder, particularly for someone caring for young children or an older relative.
Through the Yemen Emergency Appeal, you can give towards water assistance for people in remote locations, including displaced families. Water storage is part of meeting a community’s needs. Your contribution can help with water for drinking and preparing meals while families manage the other costs of displacement. This support addresses current needs and does not promise a permanent water source.
Give With Concern For Our Brothers And Sisters
Many of us know the responsibility of keeping food in the kitchen and checking that our family has what they need. That concern can help us recognise the efforts of parents in Yemen. They are making decisions for the people they love under much more difficult circumstances, and we can share some of the cost through Sadaqah.
The Hadeeth in Sahih Muslim 2699a teaches the virtue of easing another believer’s hardship. Giving through the Yemen Emergency Appeal offers a practical way to respond, with hope for Allah’s acceptance. We can contribute towards useful assistance without claiming to know what a particular family’s recovery will look like.
Make Du’a for those who are hungry and for the people caring for children who are unwell. Ask Allah to grant them shifa and protection. Give what you can, seeking good in the Akhirah and help for the household receiving your support.
