When we think of winter, we picture snow-covered landscapes and cosy evenings. But for millions within our Ummah, that picture is a lie. Their reality is bone-chilling.
Imagine a night so cold that if you fall asleep, you may never wake up. Mothers clutch their children in makeshift tents, trying to share body heat. The elderly, too weak to shiver, lie helpless. Innocent children cry throughout the night with frostbite. The reality is, there are millions upon millions of people just like this who may not survive this winter.
But there is hope in the middle of this crisis. That hope is you. Your compassion is the difference between a family freezing and a family surviving.
This winter, you are the difference.
There is no hiding from the facts. And the fact is, in the forgotten camps and villages where One Ummah works, the cold is a merciless enemy.
Hypothermia doesn’t mean just "feeling cold." It is a medical emergency where the body loses heat faster than it can produce it. Body temperature drops. Shivering becomes violent, then stops altogether. Confusion sets in. Organs begin to fail. Without any warning, death follows.
Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of death for children worldwide. It is a severe lung infection that spreads rapidly in cold, damp conditions. For a child already weakened by hunger, pneumania can kill within mere days. In displacement camps where medical care is out of reach, a simple cough can become a death sentence.
These conditions are not inevitable. They are the direct result of a lack of shelter, warm clothing, heating, and proper nutrition. Every winter, we lose countless members of our Ummah to another preventable crisis.
This is the reality we are fighting against, and this is why your donation to One Ummah’s winter campaign matters.

The Prophet Muhammadﷺ said:
Hadith - Bukhari & Muslim
When one part of our Ummah suffers, we all feel it. We cannot rest while our brothers and sisters freeze. We cannot be comfortable while their children die from the cold. Allahﷻ has blessed us with warmth, shelter, and provision. Our test is what we do with those blessings when we come across others who have nothing in this Dunya.
Never underestimate the power of your donation. Your support for One Ummah’s Global Winter Appeal is living proof of Islamic compassion. Your donation fulfils the rights of your brothers and sisters. This is the Ummah in action.
“Keep us warm, keep us alive.”
This is the simple request from our brothers and sisters. They are not asking for luxuries. They are not asking for gifts. They are asking to survive. They are asking us to share a little warmth this winter.
Don’t downplay the power of what your single act of goodness can achieve, especially in the eyes of Allahﷻ. In a global crisis, it's easy to feel powerless. But our Deen teaches us that “...whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.” [Quran 5:32]
Your Zakat can provide a complete winter kit for an entire family, protecting them from the cold. Your Sadaqah can fuel a heater, ensuring a mother can keep her newborn baby warm through the night. Your donations can also provide blankets, mattresses, clothing, hot meals and more.
You are not just giving money; you are giving life. And this winter, warmth is life.
The time to act is now.
Every hour that passes, the cold tightens its grip. Every night of delay is another night innocent families will suffer. But with your support, we can push back the cold. We can deliver hope, warmth, and the means to survive.
Do not let this winter be remembered for its losses. Let it be remembered for the unity of the Ummah. For the compassion that flowed from your heart to theirs. For the lives that were saved because you acted.
Winter is also a test for us. A test of our Iman, our compassion, and our commitment to the Ummah. The question is simple: Will you answer the call?
Share warmth. Give hope. Be the answer to their Du’as.
Together, as One Ummah, we are United Against Winter.
